Memberships
Memberships with our club is of great advantage for drivers. Apart from a reduced training fee, you will also get regular news and updates regarding training, championship etc.. through the private whatsapp group or by email. This comes at a very small fee of €25 annually. Drivers under 18 years of age who become member with us, must also have a guardian who does the membership with us for legal reasons.

Licences
MMF takes care of motorsport licences in Malta. Regarding Karting there are 3 main types of licences: Training, National and International.
Training License
The training license is to be used and applied for by new entrants to the sport to get a feel of the motorsport discipline to understand if they want to enter this challenging world. This license does not permit the participation in competitions, and trainees are not mixed with National/International license holders during training. Personal Accident Coverage under this license is an optional add-on. Medical test must be done strictly by MMF Doctor.

National Licence
The National licence is to be used to compete in National championship. To upgrade from Training to National it is recommended that driver feels that he is fully confident with that kart, and that the lap times are close to 'Championship level lap times'. When applied for, these will be a theory and practical test to ensure that the driver understands and is knowledgeable of karting regulations, flags etc.. Ones the driver passes these tests, the National Licence is issueed by MMF. Perosnal Accident coverage is included in this licence.This license is valid for overseas competitions SUBJECT to its acceptance as per the regulations of the specific race meeting and the MMF issuing a no objection letter.

International Licence
If you have not held a National License for at least 4 National events you SHALL NOT be eligible for an International License.If a license is not renewed for one calendar year your Driver Licence grading may be lost. All drivers participating overseas should do so with an MMF no objection letter in hand. A no objection letter PER EVENT shall be requested.

N.B. from 2022, both newly applicants and renewals of National and International licences, must present the FIA e-theory course certificate together with the application form. The modules can be accessed on the FIA eLearning platform. Users should visit https://elearning.fia.com/learn/register fill out the self-registration form as requested and enter the branch code: DRIVER-SRG. The Junior module is recommended for all ages and language version can be selected after sign-in.
